Excelsior Classes is a consortium of teachers inspired to bring excellence to online learning. Our goal is to provide a rigorous, dynamic, and meaningful experience to our learners.
Our courses meet live and online once per week for either 60, 70, or 90 minutes although some math classes may meet twice per week. Students then work asynchronously between class sessions using our learning management system to submit work, projects, quizzes, or tests. Teachers handle providing instruction, making assignments, and evaluating work. A final grade verification is provided at the end of the course term. All classes are recorded in case a student needs to miss class.
We offer classes in a wide array of subject areas ranging from art to science, language arts to math, and technology to history. We even offer foreign languages. For those looking for unique courses, we have several including thematic literature courses, film, psychology, and career planning.
We also have a unique partnership with LeTourneau University to provide dual credit courses. These are live class sessions and not just computer online viewing. Our teachers are credentialed adjunct professors with LeTourneau University. These courses may also be taken as honors credit if the student does not wish to pursue dual credit enrollment. It's a great way to test the waters of university-level courses.
