By the end of this entrepreneurship class, your kids will have designed and launched their own small business, and gained valuable skills in work ethic, financial stewardship, and business basics. Read on to learn how you can give your kids a great head-start in their entrepreneurial endeavors!
Growing up, I was always stumped when someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I knew I was “supposed” to get good grades so I could go to college and then get a job, hopefully doing something I loved. Trouble was, I didn't like the idea of picking just one thing. I had multiple interests, lots of ideas, and didn't know how I fit into the mold.
Turns out, I am an entrepreneur. I eventually quit my full-time job that I went to college for to start a business (which led to homeschooling, and two other businesses – but that's another story). While I am far from an expert, I love “talking shop” and supporting other small business owners in their endeavors.
Starting a business – when I had absolutely zero business background – was not easy. I read a lot, listened to a lot of podcasts, took courses from experts. I pieced together the information, and I'm still learning every day.
If you have teens that are interested in entrepreneurship, I have good news for you – there's an easier way. And I'm really excited to share it with you.

Boss Club Entrepreneurship Courses are the classes I wish I had taken when I was in high school. I am so impressed after having reviewed the curriculum, and I am confident that if you have a child interested in starting their own business, these courses will teach them everything they need to know to get started.
And the best part? They'll actually implement what they are learning by designing and launching their own business during the course!
What is Boss Club?
Co-founders Charlie and David are entrepreneurs with a mission to inspire confidence and creativity in students as they pursue entrepreneurship. They founded Boss Club in 2018, taking their years of experience in teaching entrepreneurship and running their own companies to create educational tools for students across the country.
Since then, thousands of students have taken the Boss Club entrepreneurship class and used their step-by-step process to launch profitable and efficient businesses. In addition to their online middle and high school classes, Boss Club also offers business kits for kids ages 6-14 that come with everything they need to start a fun business.
Boss Club Entrepreneurship Class
Boss Club offers their entrepreneurship class as a semester-long course that lasts for 15-18 weeks. The curriculum was initially used as a college-level course at Baylor University, and has been adapted for both a middle school and high school level.
You don't need any experience or business background to teach this course in your homeschool – Boss Club makes it easy!
Boss Club Entrepreneurship 101 is designed as a cross-curricular course, so not only will your middle and high schoolers design, launch, and begin running their small business, but the concepts they learn will be valuable in other subject areas, too.
After they complete that course, they can move onto Entrepreneurship 201, where they'll learn how to grow the business they began. A great idea would be to complete 101 and 201 as a year-long entrepreneurship program.
You can view the entire syllabus for each available entrepreneurship class here.
Why Should My Kids Take an Entrepreneurship Class?
Maybe this sounds like the perfect fit for your child because they have always wanted to start their own business. However, an entrepreneurship class can be a great option for your homeschooler as a vehicle for picking up other important life skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, and more. As they work on building a small business, they'll apply so much of what they have learned throughout their years of schooling in a very practical way.
Regardless of what career they end up in, the skills they'll learn in these courses will translate across the board to other challenges and endeavors.
Now, if you have a business-minded child, an entrepreneurship class is a no-brainer. They're going to love learning about the basics of product design, pricing, sales and marketing, and all of the other aspects that go into running a business.
When they take a Boss Club course, your kids will also be taught initiative, flexibility, adaptability, collaboration, innovation, problem solving, and learn to become future oriented. All great things for our kids to learn to prepare them for whatever their futures hold!
Course Format
If you have used any of my Online Unit Studies, then the format of the Boss Club courses will be very familiar to you.
Both Entrepreneurship 101 and 201 have pre-recorded instructional videos students work through at their own pace (although a suggested schedule is given), along with supplemental resources and activities – plus, of course, putting into action what they've learned as they work on their business.
Entrepreneurship 101 is broken into six modules, consisting of weekly lessons within the following main topics:
- Intro to Entrepreneurship and Selecting a Business
- Designing Your Business
- Launching Your Business
- Tracking for Your Business
- Marketing and Sales
- Profit, Taxes, and Giving Back
In Entrepreneurship 201, your kids will build on the first course by learning:
- Email Marketing Campaigns
- Newsletters and Email List Building
- Email Performance and Analytics
- Creating a Growth Plan
- Business Optimization
- Ad Case Study
- Next Steps and Future Planning
- Resumes and College Applications
My Experience
Like I mentioned earlier, I am very impressed by the amount of material this course covers and the supplemental templates and resources made available (like the legal documents templates – so helpful!). For a new, novice business-owner like me who scrambled trying to learn and gather information, this entrepreneurship class would have been the answer to my prayers.
The video lessons are easy to follow, very encouraging and motivating. The instructors are relatable, and work hard to outline a process for students to have success with their business ventures and avoid common pitfalls.
I love how each lessons contains a “Why This Matters” component. I think this is important to engage students, and really helps them get into the lesson topic, understand why are they doing it, and how it fits in to a successful business plan. They also tackle “Deep Dives” (deeper looks into certain topics), feature case studies & behind-the-scenes views, and take step-by-step walkthroughs on some business necessities (like setting up an online storefront).
Overall, your kids will walk away not with a “get rich quick” mindset, but a realistic view of entrepreneurship and what it takes to successfully run a business.
For parents, this course comes with an instructor guide so you have everything at your fingertips to help your kids along the way. No worries if you don't have a business degree or any experience!
Standard and Christian Versions
Another aspect of Boss Club is that their entrepreneurship class is offered in both Standard and Christian versions.
If you are interested in the faith-based option, you need to know that the material is the same as the standard version, but there are Biblical lessons and scripture references included in each lesson. The understanding that we can learn what God has to say about entrepreneurship and seek to glorify and know Him more through our studies is woven into the Christion option of the class.
For students that desire to know how they can further God's kingdom through their business endeavors, this is a great option for them. The scriptural applications in each lesson will encourage and equip them as Christian leaders, no matter what their final career path may be.
