Excelsior Classes is a consortium of Christian teachers dedicated to homeschool families and to making the online experience a rich one! Offering over 100 courses for grades 4th-12th and even dual-credit courses, the teachers have carefully cultivated pathways across all subjects to prepare students for college and beyond. The courses are rigorous but manageable. The teachers are known for their expertise AND for making class time dynamic and fun.
Meeting once per week (or twice per week for math classes) allows you and your family to have a life outside of the online classroom. Students are not chained to the computer clicking through content; rather, students use the live class session to fuel the week’s work and then submit through the learning management system.

I am impressed by the spectrum of classes and levels offered by Excelsior. It would not be hard for me to find a class that my rising 9th grader would be happy to study. As Jody the reviewer mentioned, as mothers – an online class can be a real help in raising the bar with dishing out assignments, a different caring teacher who is not mom, and it frees up Mom to be able to also focus on siblings. Years ago, I utilized some courses from Veritas Press because I needed help with these issues. I could not be all things to each of my children simultaneously.
