Even though it's specific to the Techie Homeschool Photography Club, you can apply the instructions for creating a simple animated video to other types of homeschool lessons.  Consider these ideas….

  • “How-to” video: Take pictures during the different steps of a process you want to explain. Then make an Animaker scene for each step, upload your images and add text or voice over.
  • Explainer video: No matter what you're studying, you can find images online, include some details and add music.
  • Nature journal: As you observe nature, take pictures. Upload them and record facts about your discoveries and observations. Find nature sounds online to add to each scene.
  • Field trip scrapbook: Share pictures from the trip and narrate to explain your adventure.

Really, the possibilities are endless…and that’s without even using Animaker’s other features, like adding characters, objects and backgrounds.

Think about it… not only are your kids demonstrating their understanding of what they’ve learned, they are discovering the basics of computer animation and video production. Your kids learn  how to add elements, create a sequence, set timing, add sound effects and more. These are skills that they can apply towards other techie projects, and who knows… it may spark an interest that will lead to a future career.

I’m confident that, after watching the tutorial below, you’ll want to check out Animaker. You can sign up for an account  HERE. I recommend the Personal plan so that you can create videos longer than 2 minutes.
